There are many different things to think about before creating content for your website. Below is a list of questions to go through that can help with some of your questions. Some questions may apply to you and your business and some may not.
Be sure your website designer, who ever it will be, knows if you want to add more to the website later so they are sure to design it with the ability to grow if needed. Otherwise you may need to pay for a full website redesign later on.

How long have you owned your business?
Is this a family run/owned business?
Do you have any testimonials you can publish? (If you have enough, you can create a page just for testimonials.)

What are your product/services? What are you selling? (Details should include your product or service, its benefits, comparison with competition if required, prices, delivery, etc.)
What services do your clients/prospects most want and need?
How do people feel after they use your services?

Do you have any special training?
What are the core strengths of your organization?
What are your customers trying to accomplish by using your products/services?
Describe your typical customer (needs, desires, preferences, fears, pain, etc.).
What sets your company apart from others in your industry?
Is there a unique aspect to your company that you could use as a point of differentiation?
Information about your company, its history, the people, their expertise, resumes, (if required)
Company philosophy/credo, vision, mission (if required)
What are the central keywords/trigger words that prospects might use to find you online? (IE what words would your target audience use to describe the key products/services/information you provide?)
Do you have an existing tagline, slogan or brand statement? If not, would you like to create one?
